At Port Melbourne Physiotherapy & Pilates we pride ourselves on providing our patients with a range
of modern Physiotherapy services by a highly qualified and friendly team.
At PMPP our remedial therapist Cassie Haslam is also trained in Reflexology. Reflexology is the application of pressure on reflexes in the feet, hands and ears, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body.
Reflexology is a “reflex” therapy in that works with points on one part of the body to affect other parts of the body. Reflexology uses reflexes that are in an orderly arrangement resembling a shape of the human body on the feet, hands, and outer ears, using unique micro-movement techniques such as thumb or finger walking, and hook to create a response throughout the body. Cassie is able to relieve tension, improve circulation and help promote the natural function of the body through reflexology.
Although reflexology is not used to diagnose or cure health disorders, millions of people around the world use it to complement other treatments when addressing conditions such as:
- cancer treatment
- cardiovascular issues
- kidney function
- digestive disturbances
Cassie is well known around Melbourne for her ability to utilise reflexology to assist in inducing labour at the end stages of pregnancy. Often women come to see her once past their due date in order to avoid medical induction and she has had great anecdotal success. We always recommend that you consult your obstetrician before seeing Cassie for reflexology during pregnancy.
